Job Description: | ||
1. Works closely with physicians, information systems personnel, supervisors and managers to ensure proper operation of the radiology-related computer systems (PACS/RIS).
2. Works in conjunction with information systems personnel to troubleshoot, resolve, and document unread studies in order to meet established turnaround times of result availability.
3. Updates patient demographics, merges patients, merges images to studies, and updates order information when defined as part of established procedures or import/export of images data.
4. Ensures that comparison images are available to radiology staff when requested.
5. Corrects broken and corrupted studies; splits and merges studies as needed.
6. Investigates and resolves PACS-related issues for physicians and employees.
7. Activates a contingency plan or downtime procedures for image and report distribution when PACS or any associated information system is not available.
8. Notifies designated personnel in a timely manner if non-standard issues should arise.
9. Maintains established auditing and tracking tools.
10. Maintains files and records in a confidential manner.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods of time, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone.
