Positions in this function work in the analysis phase of the system development cycle and consult with users to evaluate business requirements, identify operating procedures, evaluate existing or proposed systems and prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. This function also is intended to include those that also may define business processes.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates business requirements and prepares detailed specifications that follow project guidelines required to develop written programs
  • Formulates, defines and documents the functional system specifications
  • Devises or modifies procedures that solve complex business problems with due consideration for hardware/software capacity and limitations, operating times and the desired results
  • Analyzes and revises existing functional documentation
  • Generates innovative ideas to resolve problems
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding all defined target goals and milestone dates for the project in order to ensure its overall success
  • Assists in training junior level personnel in technical complexities of assigned work
  • HIPAA EDI experience
  • 837 transaction experience is required.
  • Claims experience
  • Health care experience
  • Data analysis experience
  • SQL skill
  • IT experience
  • Reviews the work of others.

Requirements

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of equivalent experience
  • 3+ years SQL experience
  • 3+ years of Data Analysis experience
  • 3+ years Healthcare experience
  • HIPPA EDI (837, 277, 835, 5010 and ICD10) transaction experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Assets:
  • Healthcare Encounters knowledge
  • Previous experience mapping documents from one system to another
  • Healthcare IT experience 
  • Previous testing experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio
