Systems Administrator – Corporate Applications

The system Administrator participates in a team environment for the installation, maintenance, upgrade, and testing of new and existing computer systems, operating systems and/or software applications.

General Responsibilities and Experience• Install and configure computing systems and system software of business processes and objectives.
• Work highly efficiently in multi-tasked environment dealing with several software and hardware systems and solutions concurrently.
• Ability to multi-task between multiple software deployments, operating on disparate system platforms, on a daily basis.
• Ability to invest, learn, apply and deploy new application solution suites as requested by business units.
• Accountable for researching and solving simple to complex software issues and collaborates with vendors and other support teams in regards to product or infrastructure problems.
• Research, analyze and submit analysis and recommendations for software development, enhancement, replacement or purchase.
• Participate in the research and estimating of proposed work.
• Monitor and Maintain all systems (software and hardware) in production, test and development environment and ensure the system’s freshness (current with releases) at all times.
• Demonstrates knowledge in networked computing structure and architecture.
• Prepares individual work plans and reports activities, tasks, milestones, deliverables, schedules, and status reports, as appropriate.
• Must proactively isolate legacy systems and work with engineering, business and management teams with proposal on replacement to stay current with new technology stack and solutions.
• Required to maintain professional working relationships with vendors.
• Learn and adapt to new technology and methodologies and apply them to technological and/or business needs.
• Ability to extend beyond regular system administration and involve with (and not limited to) Vendor management, Procurement, License tracking and compliance, Security Administration, Capacity Planning, monitoring and tuning, Performance monitoring and tuning, Restore and recovery.
• Ability to travel beyond application configuration and venture into system customization as per the solution needs.
• Maintain (create and keep current) detailed documentation of all deployed systems and facilitate for easy and automated generation of health reports, data reports, status reports, risks prediction and escalations.
 Must be ‘automation’ focused and demonstrate an attitude to build systems that work for you and not vice versa.

Key Qualifications and Experience• A minimum of 1 year of experience in the implementation, operations, development and maintenance of IT systems and/or administration of Software functions in multi-platform and multi-system environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field; Appropriate additional experience beyond the minimum required experience may be substituted for education.
• Proficient understanding of design, implementation and sustainment activities of IT systems.
• Familiar with infrastructure management ITIL techniques such as change management, problem management, release management, configuration management and/or system lifecycle.
• Experience with Unix, Windows and/or Linux environment including common suites and core business applications.
• Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve system performance problems or outages.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with coworkers and all levels of management both verbally and written.
• Ability to work across functional and business teams, work with small teams and excel as individual contributor as and when required.

Desired Experience• Candidates are preferred to have system administrator skills / experience with the following: IBM FileNet P8, Xenos Enterprise, PitneyBowes Doc1 and Streamweaver, ThunderHead, Kodak Scanner Software
• Ability to analyze classification rules and setup document classes on P8 Content Engine
• Experience with building IBM ECM solution using FileNet P8, ICC, eDiscovery Tools and IBM Atlas
Scripting skills are a plus (i.e. Gel Scripting, Xcelsius Dashboards, Java Scripting, Perl, PowerShell Scripting).• Understanding of networking concepts (TCPIP, Routing, Switching and Firewalls).
• Experience with CA Clarity, BMC Remedy, MS SharePoint, SailPoint Identity and Compliance Management, Orion and Aternity monitoring tools
