Position Description

Position Description:
Positions in this function are responsible for training within a function such as Claims or Customer Service.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for training new member services staff on department procedures and policies.
  • Assist with special department functions as needed such as auditing, claims processing and taking inbound telephone calls.
  • Maintain successful training standards as measured by trainee performance in the business unit.
  • Maintain record of training activities, participants, dates and results.
  • Create, develop and deliver training programs for system applications (and upgrades) used in the Member Services Department (FACETS, IDX, Pharmacy system and Macess). 
  • Extensive work experience within own function.
  • Work is frequently completed without established procedures.
  • Works independently.
  • May act as a resource for others. 
  • May coordinate other's activities.

Requirements

Requirements:
  • High school education or GED is the minimum requirement
  • 2+ years customer service in a managed care environment required
  • Good knowledge of Federal and state regulations regarding health coverage
  • Must have a good understanding of company products (HMP/PPO/POS)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (Basic skills: Creating and editing)
  • Microsoft Excel:  Must know how to enter formulas and update a spreadsheet
Assets:
  • Articulate experience is a plus
  • Microsoft Outlook is a plus
  • Some training or lead level experience is preferred
  • Prefer knowledge of FACETS, IDX, and MACESS. ICD-9, CPT terminology and medical terminology preferred

  • Strong communication, presentation and training skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must have ability to work swiftly and efficiently without compromising quality customer service
  • Flexible and able to commit to department goals, including overtime as needed, shift changes, etc.
  • Maintain company standards on the company Member Satisfaction survey
    Basic understanding of how our systems work is sufficient.
